Under challenging circumstances, the Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art opts for a radical format and changes its structure: the biennale will be condensed into ten days. Artistic, discursive and reflective moments will shape the space. Located in the Pavilion No.1 of VDNKh, it is here that the Moscow Biennale will evolve, as a think tank in real time.

Mu, Li

Born in Feng County, Jiangsu Province, CN
Based in Feng County and Su Zhou , CN

Li Mu was born in 1974, Feng County, Jiangsu Province, China and lives and works in Feng County and Suzhou of China. He graduated from the Suzhou School of Art and Design, Suzhou in 1995 and the Academy of Art of Tsinghua University, Beijing in 2001.

Li Mu creates works in different genres, for example videos, photographies, installations and performances. He likes to transcend his own boundaries and aims to widen his understanding of art through these works. Everyday life plays an important role in Li Mu’s works when they succeed in blurring the borders between art and life: At times, Li Mu’s life experiences become his works.

A public diary, which grew during the period of the biennial, was presented on tables for everyone to read. Li Mu’s observations and interpretations laid for the viewer and served as a re-construction and very personal point of view on the event.
